Choosing the next step, into senior education, is one of the most important decisions you will ever make for your child. At Kingswood House, you will be guided through this process carefully and sensitively by senior staff, including the Headmaster, with regular reports on progress and suitability for our own Senior Years or beyond.

Individual schools have different academic standards, traditions and their own unique atmosphere. We will help you to identify the best options for your child, whether that is here at Kingswood House or beyond.
Some schools require earlier registration than others and most have a Pre-Common Entrance assessment. When your son reaches Year 5, the School will send you a “Next School” guide and you will be invited to attend an information evening.
All children are prepared thoroughly in key aspects of English, mathematics, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning as well as Interview Technique. These disciplines are taught both in class and in additional clinics. In keeping with our inclusive philosophy, the acquisition of these important life skills is delivered carefully and sensitively in order that each boy is suitably challenged, relative to his ability. The Headmaster will provide an important academic and social context before a choice is made.
Our exciting academic programme of study for Seniors at Kingswood House will enable parents to make an informed decision, in the best interests of their son, as to whether they stay on for GCSE. It is our expectation that boys will remain at Kingswood House until, at least, the end of Year 8, having secured a conditional offer from a senior school, unless a shared understanding has been reached beforehand with the Headmaster as a part of the transfer process.
