The thought of continuing our unique environment for boys for another three years up to age 16 is very stimulating and inspiring. We want to be able to provide for and accommodate these young men and send them out the complete package.

The staff are enthused about nurturing and valuing each individual and indeed challenging them to achieve the best they can in every aspect of school life.

They will have access to so many opportunities, like Duke of Edinburgh or other individual awards, their curriculum could take them to all corners of certainly England but why not the world—Geography, study of volcanoes, Iceland!

We will offer a range of subjects including a core of English Literature and Language, Maths, Dual Science, IT/Computing, Drama, RS, PE, Art/DT, History and Geography. At KHS it will be very possible to do as many as 10 or 11 GCSE’s.

At Kingswood we have always aimed to provide an excellent education both in and outside the classroom and we see our new Year 9 as a perfect opportunity for boys to flourish.

This doesn’t mean that of your chosen path is CE that you will not be driven in that quest. We aim to continue to have a feed to all our Senior Schools, in fact this move has created an even stronger link with the local schools and for many years to come we will continue to have Year 8 Head Boys and Prefects alongside responsibilities in Year 9, 10 and 11 eventually.

Welcome to the Head

Matthew Bryan

“It’s a huge privilege to be coming in as Head at Kingswood House, particularly in this its 125th year. KHS is an exciting, kind, progressive and ambitious school and I’m looking forward to building on the foundations laid by my predecessors to take the school from strength to strength”.
