Epsom College Choir Day
Choir members from Years 4 & 5 spent Tuesday at Epsom College with singers from 11 other Prep Schools. The theme of the day was “Villains and Heroes”. We learnt 8 new songs ranging from the loud and lively “Monster Stomp” and “Hakon-the-Good” to the delicate and haunting “The Highwayman”, each song highlighting a different singing style or technique.
We had a fabulous lunch and then were treated to a concert by Epsom College pupils showcasing some of the winning entries from their House Choral Competition. After a final rehearsal with piano and percussion we were ready for our concert which the parents thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to Mrs Watkins, Mrs MacFarlane and Mrs Carpenter for taking us and thank you to Mr Lodge and the music staff at Epsom College for putting on such a great day.
