To celebrate the launch of the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Kingswood House School and the Award celebrating its 60th year, we have decided to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Diamond Challenge.
Mr Marler, Mr Russell, Mr Cowie and Mr Hendry will be blindfolded and taken to an unknown location. They will then be dropped somewhere in Surrey with only a map and a compass. The team must first figure out where they are and then find their way back to school. They must travel only on foot and must arrive back at school within 5 hours.
The team will keep a video diary throughout the day which will be uploaded onto the school social media sites upon their successful (hopefully) completion!
All the money raised will go to supporting the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the local community by buying places for under privileged young people.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award supports over 300,000 young people every year. Over 30,000 are from disadvantaged backgrounds. We inspire, guide and support them to develop skills for life and work. We are making a world where young people can reach their full potential, whatever their circumstances.
