Study Centre
As a school we pride ourselves on being small enough to appreicate and consider the needs of each individual, to recognise and challenge their strengths and support their weaknesses. |
![]() We have received an outstanding report from the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils (CReSTeD). Click on the logo to see the full report or go to our Press Release. |
More recent provision has been that of occupational therapy to support handwriting and co-ordination difficulties. There is a Computer Gym/Touch Typing club that provides specialist tuition in touch-typing. In addition, when required, there is an Occupational Therapy Club that offers group support, teaching exercises to promote listening, concentration, co-ordination, etc.
While ESOL (English for Speakers of Our Language) does not come under SEN, the Study Centre has two qualified tutors for this field.
| * Parents' Evenings are held each term where parents discuss their child's progress and programme with the tutors and therapists. * Study Centre staff hold a variety of workshops for parents and their children to attend including such topics as memory/study skills. * The Study Centre operates for four days a week. * Review conferences are held each term where parents, tutors, therapists and teachers meet to 'sit around the table' to discuss the progress and programme for their children. |
